Hansel and Gretel in Austria!

It’s been a long time since I’ve done a singing post, so here it is! I just finished a wonderful 2 weeks in St. Anton, Austria where I was cast in a production of Hänsel und Gretel. I played the Sandman and Dew Fairy. I had a great time and wanted to share some photos from the production and our time there.

It was a quick rehearsal period but we managed to get everything done just in time. It was an outdoor version of Hänsel und Gretel which fit so perfectly with the story. Below is the side view of the park where we performed.

Here’s a picture of my entrance as the Sandman. I think it looked really creepy and the music sounded a bit scary, as well. No one quite knew what I was about to do. But, lo and behold, I was just the Sandman! I was getting ready to spread sleep dust all around so Hänsel und Gretel could fall fast asleep.

The show started at dusk and by the second act it was dark which added a lovely ambiance to the setting. This is a shot looking up towards the museum.

We were rained out for the second performance so here’s a shot of me during my scene. We had to perform inside the museum. It was a beautiful space so it worked out just fine.

On one of our days off, we were treated to several lifts up to some of the highest peaks in the region. It was a thrill to be able to see Germany, Switzerland and Italy in one view.

It was so fun to see our posters throughout the town. The people were so supportive and both performances were very well attended.

The cast was generally really easy going and fun to work with. It was terrific.

Till next time! Bis nächstes Mal!

Here’s to living well and being happy 🙂
