Sometimes you just need a quick pick-me-up beverage. If you are looking for an alternative to coffee or energy drinks, here’s an all-natural drink that will help to give you that energy you need but without any side effects.

I’ve been juicing for many years, but it wasn’t until I tried juicing myself that I saw the benefits and recognized the importance. My skin was brighter, elimination was easier (TMI?) and I felt more energy. That was my personal experience, but there are many other reasons to give juicing a try if you’ve never done it before.

Why Juice?

1. Take in a lot of vegetables quickly and easily.

It takes a while to eat a carrot on its own let alone 5, but when you juice your carrots you can take them in all at once. In fact, you can ingest a days worth of fruits and vegetables in one sitting.

2. Higher absorbability

The juicing of the fruits and vegetables prior to intake makes them much easier for your body to assimilate.

3.  You are receiving a concentrated form of vitamins, enzymes and minerals.

Eating a balanced diet is difficult for even the most stringent among us. Juicing makes it possible to get a lot of nutrition all at once. You get a lot of bang for your buck with juicing!

Energizing Juice Recipe


  • 1/2 beet
  • 3 carrots
  • 2-3 celery stalks
  • 1-2 apples


  1. Put all of the above ingredients through your juicer (find one here). Stir well and enjoy!

We do not have a fancy juicer at all, but I’m satisfied with it and it gets the job done. It’s a centrifugal type and is very good with firm vegetables and fruits. I also add enough apple to make it palatable. The beet is very earthy and it takes some getting used to but with the apple, it makes everything go down much easier.
